Comedy is acting out optimism

Viewing short films from young directors with zero to minor budgets, takes a different mindset, when we are accustomed to only the Hollywood blockbuster. But Teardrops, from director Casey Alexander puts an extra foot forward. Sure, the acting may be bland to over-the-top, but his comedic edge is there for the taking, if we just sit back and allow ourselves to laugh.

On April 8, I will begin a series titled ‘Family’, but when I came across this post ‘Wedding Days’ I thought no better place to start. From the blog, The History of Dad…. Wedding Days, a beautiful poem about love (and the beginning of family).
I remember that moment, when you walked in to the room
I remember a feeling washing over I had never felt before
I remember my heart stopping as looked at you
That was all I needed, all I would ever need
Your smile started my heart
Your smile washed away the world
Your smile took one step closer to forever
I love you my dear wife and always will
David Robert Bliwas shoots photographs of people that tend to look just like you and me. His eye for capturing the perfect moment, and to freeze that moment in time, allowing each picture and each subject to speak for itself, is an artist who is at one with his craft.

Jacob Miguel Coffey’s ‘Evolution of the Horror Film Genre’ is not simply a historical look at scary movies, but quietly and effectively demonstrates how life can be more horrifying than art.
