Cease the Fire

CEASE THE FIRE
by Baltimore’s Keith Mon

Man, when I hit the street
I can feel the heat

Imaginary bodies dropping at my feet

People just don’t care
You’d better beware
Because life ain’t fair

Innocents lost from shot’s in the air

Momma’s crying
Because their babies dying
In the streets you can see them lying
The devil’s roaring like a lion
In everybody’s life he’s prying

But ya gotta keep on trying

I see the tears
I hear the fears

Young one’s talking bout their peers

Lost to this violence
No one talking through the code of silence

Until their own family feel the violence

Now you see the chalk
Now you wanna talk
Feeling like it’s your fault

Ain’t tryna let the gunner’s walk

Keep it real now
Tell em how ya feel now

Shooter said, it’s time to make a deal now

This”ishhhhh”done got real now

      • Thanks Kendall. It was a great first chance to take part and I really enjoyed the collaborative experience with Nadine. However, if you you want to see Jemverse really shine, a solo spot’s the way to go. Been writing for over 50 years now and have a back-catalogue numbering into the 1000’s! But the best is still to come.
