Common Ground does not dictate a winner or a loser. There is no white flag and no one surrenders. It does not mean we have changed our philosophy or suddenly see it the other way. Common Ground is not selling out or giving in or not being true to yourself. It is simply a place that we all cherish or love or need. This is how I feel when I think of on ‘COMMON GROUND’ that due to all of great minds coming together just in our ‘Neighborhood’ that there is hope for this great country we live in!! I look forward to seeing what comes next!! due to my mental illness I don’t get out much I’ve become a Neighborhood watch dog waiting for the next best thing!

Although, each of us grew up in different neighborhoods with various opinions and educations, you must know what stage of the game you’re aloud to throw out such personal implications.

People are first taught by what they live while compromises can be discussed with tact. There are times in life that you need to learn how to give a little because statements are made that turn into an attack.

How we decide to treat each other is so disgusting however the reason behind it started with things that have been said and done that led to a lot of mistrusting.

Respect is a give and take but more importantly earned by others. We have to own our part in it as a lifestyle we chose to live and by a child of God sisters/brothers.

This is an anthem that I want to declare with an understanding of many types of cultures and religious beliefs so we can all become able to embrace. The purpose here is to find a common ground for all walks of life, either sex, no matter what color skin you have and for any fucking race. – tenacity goddess

We look to change or start new everyday interactions between groups of people with different views. Therefore, we can work together to build up our community by finding what we have in common with each other, while choosing to respect differences rather than criticize them.

In 1929, the Stock Market collapsed. That was 87 years ago — a number that equates to Abraham Lincolns famous Gettysburg Address opening line, “Forescore and seven years ago…”. That is the fitting rhetorical inspiration for my “Declaration of Common Ground”.

Four score and seven years ago, bankers revealed to this continent, a new nation, conceived in greed, and dedicated to the proposition that only certain men deserve power.

Now we are engaged in a great Civil War, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated to greed, self-interest, and closed-mindedness can long endure. Today and beyond, we are met on a great battlefield of that war.

We have come to dedicate 2016, as a final resting place for those who took so much that this nation might crumble forever. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should mark 2016 as the end of the Era of Greed and personal gain, and make the future one of peace, unity, and with it, a dedication to the search for common ground.

The world will little note, nor long remember what we blog here, but the conversations that we start here will continue forever. From this fateful year, we take increased devotion to that cause for which many have already given everything — that we here highly resolve that 2016 marks the end of the era of greed — that this nation, under God or otherwise, shall have a new birth of freedom — and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth, for we will find common ground, or the American Experiment will end. – Ryan Black 2020 Progressive
