I’ve been asked, as my final contribution in A Star Is Born, this question:
If you woke up tomorrow as a star, and with your fame and riches could support any non-profit cause/organization, who would it be and why?
While there are an endless amount of wonderful organizations out there to choose from, I can say with certainty that I know the exact one I would select, without hesitation.
The organization I would support would be TWLOHA, also known as To Write Love On Her Arms.
To Write Love On Her Arms is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting people who suffer from mental health related issues including depression, self-harm, suicide and addiction.
There are many reasons this organization is my choice. Having dealt first hand with depression and watching friends and family suffer from self-harm and multiple suicide attempts, it is something that is very close to my heart. I’ve been the person that sacrifices my own health to be the one that makes sure someone sees another day. I’ve talked people down from jumping off a ledge that they will never be able to come back from.
These issues weigh on my mind daily and my thoughts and prayers are always with those who struggle.
Apart from this, one of my own family members lost their life to addiction. This happened in two ways: 1. The loss of ability to be completely present in with their family while they were physically alive. 2. Physical complications from the addiction that drug out their death painfully and over many years.
To Write Love On Her Arms is an organization of people who are hopeful, and who want to give that hope to others. This is my heart’s wish as well, and is why, if I were a star and had the means, I would donate all of my resources to helping them achieve their goal of bringing hope to others who suffer from afflictions of the mind.

YOUR LOVE IS KILLING ME

Love comes in many forms to fortify our lives with Hope. Hope hangs around to ensure we do not loose faith. Faith bonds the two together for a lifetime of happiness.
Most who think of hurting themselves do so due to a lack of love and acceptance in their lives. My newfound fame would be best utilized in joining forces with The Trevor Project, an organization that brings Love and Hope to many gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth thinking of hurting or killing themselves.
Romantic love is a grand focus of my blog and poetry. The pleasure and pain of finding and loosing love is paramount in all of our lives, gay, straight, black or white. And it is this universal message of love that I aim to convey through my poetry.
My life is rich with love from family and friends. I hope to express that love and pride through my poetry and if it helps just one youth thinking of hurting themselves, then I think my efforts in writing would be well spent.

Everyone has done a tremendous job with this.
I have nothing but respect for the people involved and special respect
for Kendall Person who has the drive, vision and energy to make online
performance art a reality.
This is such an impressive final performance.
I know that it sounds empty to say that all of you are winners.
But this is one of those rare moments when it is true.
